"Today's woman needs styles that are casual, yet elegant, and the concept inspired this design," says Guatemala's Luisa Villavicencio. "Because it's made with soft, natural fibers, it's lightweight and cozy." The trendy cardigan sweater is knitted of cotton in a combination of pale green and beige, with a wide collar that continues as a border down the front and hem. It is open in front.
The Villavicencio family cultivates cotton in several natural colors – jade, ixcaco (cocoa) and ivory, or crude cotton. In fact, people are surprised to learn that no dyes are used. The family is involved in the entire process, from growing the cotton, to weaving it and transforming it into apparel.
