"With this portrait I wanted to represent a human being within a social context," begins Carlos Morales as he confides his intentions. "I depict a man taking a rest after a hard day's work. Despite his tired state, his face is full of vitality and joy. He is a porter at the fruit market and even though he's been carrying heavy loads, he smiles unafraid of the efforts he must make to provide for his family."

I acquired the young girl 2008 portrait not long ago. The original is even more beautiful on my wall than I thought it was in the online picture. The detail is so exquisite, I feel I can reach out and touch her windblown hair. Spectacular water color!

Carlos is a master at capturing the human spirit in his artwork. My framer tells me he uses ""very"" high quality paper which will insure many years of enjoyment. His ""old man on the street"" now graces my family room. Thank you Carlos for sharing your talents with us.
