Details

A serpent peeks out of Lord Shiva's long, tangled hair in this mystical portrait of the Hindu deity. Taking the form of Ganga Dhar, Shiva gazes at a trident that holds a drum. Ganga Dhar means "Bearer of the river Ganga," or Ganges, the most sacred river in the Hindu faith. A small face spouts a wide stream of blue water, giving rise to the river itself. Artist Bharti Dayal adds intricate patterns to this beautiful canvas.
