Exactly What I Wanted
My girlfriend and I moved from New Jersey to Sedona 8 months ago. We are in the process of decorating in a manner that is southwestern without being cliche, without being cartoonish. We looked at Zapotec rugs in local stores. They were what we were looking for in the way of rugs. I was prepared to pay the high price they were asking, but we didnt find exactly what we wanted. Then I happened on Novica, had never heard of this site, and found exactly what I wanted, for much less money, and a lot more of that money going to the artisan. This piece by Alfredo Ruiz is simply superb!
Irene makes beautiful art, that happen be be rugs. I just purchased three of them, and they are all outstanding. My biggest problem, I am going to get more! :) Thank you.

Popular Geometric Pattern Rugs
Geometric Wool Area Rug (2x3), "Desert Diamond"
Radiant desert colors center this handloomed rug with a dazzling diamond. With stripes and fretwork along each end, the motifs express centuries of Zapotec tradition. Gregorio Ruiz weaves the piece by hand from soft virgin wool.
Because each rug is individually woven on handlooms, measurements could vary +/- 2 inches (5 cm).
Red Geometric Wool Rug from Mexico (2.5x5), "Double Diamond"
Bright shades of red, orange, and moss green decorate this vibrant area rug by artisan Delfina Ruiz of Mexico. The rug is handcrafted out of 100% wool and features a white fringe on the ends. Two diamond shapes stand out against stripes of red in the center of the rug, with other unique, geometric patterns giving the rug an exotic appearance.
Earth-Tone Geometric Wool Dhurrie Rug from India (3x5, 5x8), "Geometric Homestead"
The perfect addition to your homestead, this handwoven wool area rug features earth-tone geometric motifs for an elegant aesthetic. Sonik Sethi presents the rug, crafted by local artisans. The dhurrie is completed with petite fringe work at the ends.
